Frequently asked questions

Can I take a sun holiday for under €300 per person?

Yes. Alicante and Marrakech are the easiest choices: 5 nights including a direct flight from Eindhoven or Amsterdam costs €180 to €250 per person when booking outside school holidays. The key is combining the right destination with low season and budget accommodation like a hostel or cheap apartment.

What is the cheapest sun destination from the Netherlands?

Alicante is the cheapest sun destination: direct return flight from €50, budget hotel or apartment from €25 per night. A 5-night trip including flight is achievable for €175 to €250 per person outside school holidays. Marrakech is close behind with extremely cheap accommodation and flights from €80.

When are the cheapest periods for a sun holiday?

For Spain (Alicante, Malaga): November to February is low season, cheapest outside Christmas. For Morocco (Marrakech, Agadir, Nador): March-May and September-November for the best price and pleasant weather. For the Canary Islands: November to early January for the lowest flight fares. Always avoid Christmas, Easter and summer holidays if price is your priority.

Should I book a package or book flight and hotel separately?

For the destinations on this list, booking separately is almost always cheaper than a package. Book a cheap return flight (Ryanair, Transavia, easyJet) and find a budget hotel or hostel separately on Booking.com. An all-inclusive package to Fuerteventura quickly starts at €900 per person, while a self-booked trip under €300 is achievable.
