When is the best time to go?

May, June and September are ideal: 24 to 28 degrees, swimmable sea and far fewer cruise crowds than July and August. High summer is warm and lively, but several cruise ships can dock at once. The shoulder season gives you the mountains, the bay and the old town much more quietly.
