- Exploring Alfama - free Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood, full of narrow lanes, authentic cafes and a family atmosphere. The best free activity in the city: no ticket, no time slot.
- Miradouro da Graca viewpoint - free The best panoramic view of Lisbon, frequented by locals. Much quieter than the touristy Sao Pedro de Alcantara. Combine with the Mouraria and Graca neighbourhoods.
- Free wine tasting at ViniPortugal - free On Praca do Comercio, Tuesday to Saturday 11am to 7pm: free tasting of Portuguese wines. Almost no tourists know about this. Portugal produces some of Europe's best value wines.
- Feira da Ladra flea market - free Every Tuesday and Saturday at Campo de Santa Clara. A flea market with second-hand goods, authentic and local. Combine with the beautiful Santa Engrada church next door.
- Torre de Belem and Jeronimos Monastery These two UNESCO monuments cost €8 and €18 respectively. The Jeronimos Monastery is free on the first Sunday of the month. With the Lisboa Card (€21 for 24 hours) both are included, plus unlimited public transport.
