Practical tips for Budapest
- Rudas Baths at night Visit the Ottoman Rudas Baths after sunset (founded 1550, rooftop pool with Danube views). Friday/Saturday evening sessions: mixed, €15-18. This is the city's best-kept secret.
- Book Parliament tickets early Guided tours sell out quickly, especially in summer. Book 2-3 weeks ahead via the official website. EU citizens pay €17-18; non-EU citizens €22-27.
- Currency: Hungarian Forint (HUF) Always withdraw cash at an ATM of a reputable bank (OTP, K&H), never at private exchange booths on tourist streets.
- Best photo moment The Chain Bridge and Parliament look best during the blue hour (30-40 minutes after sunset). Bring a tripod or head to Buda Castle for the panoramic view.
