Short answer: the Canary Islands (Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote) offer the most stable sunny climate from the Netherlands in February 2027: around 21 degrees, 4.5 hours flying, direct from Schiphol. The Cape Verde islands (Sal) are warmer (26 degrees) but slightly more expensive. Curacao and Aruba are at 30 degrees but require 10 hours of flying and more budget.
Note: Eindhoven Airport is closed until 18 July 2027. All flights depart from Schiphol. Also factor in Ramadan (expected start: 18 February 2027) for destinations in the Middle East and North Africa.
Tenerife, Canary Islands
Route from NL: direct from Schiphol to Tenerife South (TFS) in approximately 4.5 hours. Transavia, Corendon and TUI continue summer schedule flights in February. Return from 90 euros.
What it costs: hostel from 20 euros per night, aparthotel 50 to 120 euros. Week including flight and breakfast from approximately 400 euros per person.
Why February: the Canary Islands have a climate of 19 to 25 degrees year-round. In February the sun shines 6 to 7 hours per day. On the south coast (Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas) it is virtually guaranteed to stay dry. The Dutch carnival school holiday (expected 22 to 26 February 2027) temporarily raises prices. Book early or late in the month and you pay noticeably less.

Why February: besides the well-known coastal areas (Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas), Gran Canaria has a varied interior with ravines and villages. The Maspalomas dunes are impressive even in February. The island is also famous for the vibrant Las Palmas carnival, one of the biggest carnival celebrations outside Brazil.

What it costs: apartment from 30 euros per night, hotel 55 to 110 euros.
Why February: Lanzarote is the quietest and most distinctive Canary Island. Volcanoes, lava fields (Timanfaya), white houses and dark beaches. February is low season, so quieter and cheaper than Tenerife or Gran Canaria. A good alternative for those who want to avoid the crowds. Temperatures are slightly cooler than on the southern islands but still very pleasant.

Why February: the dry season (November to July) is the best time to visit. February is optimal: 26 to 28 degrees, turquoise water at Santa Maria Beach, virtually no rain. Sal is also a kitesurfing paradise. Sal is more compact and affordable than neighbouring Santiago. Downside: the island is fairly flat and dry with little greenery. Those seeking more nature should fly to Santiago or Fogo.

Why February: October to May is the best season for the Red Sea: comfortable 22 to 26 degrees, sea water of 22 degrees, virtually no rain. Hurghada is the cheapest sun-and-sea combination on this list.
Note: Ramadan. Ramadan is expected to start around 18 February 2027. In all-inclusive resorts tourists are largely unaffected, but local eateries and shops outside the resort are closed during the day. If you combine the trip with Luxor or Cairo, expect adjusted opening hours. Travel early in February and it will not be an issue.

Why February: Marsa Alam is quieter than Hurghada and has the clearest seawater in the Red Sea. Ideal for snorkelling and diving (coral gardens just off the shore). Most resorts are self-contained complexes, so Ramadan (expected around 18 February) has less impact here than in more open urban environments.

Why February: Curacao is outside the hurricane belt and has 29 to 32 degrees year-round. December to April is high season, so prices are slightly higher than the rest of the year. Curacao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, so no visa is needed for Dutch citizens. UNESCO city Willemstad and beaches like Cas Abou are world-famous.
